Cast in a sturdy compound from the original mold taken in the Bob Marshall Wilderness Area of Montana, this adult grizzly bear (Ursus arctos) track makes a unique ornament or thought-provoking educational tool. Every detail of the track has been perfectly preserved, including the 2.5 inch claws! The paw itself measures 11 inches (heal to claw) by 6.75 inches wide. Including the surrounding mould, the piece measures a total of 14 x 11, and has a convenient hanging hole on the back. Both the range and distribution of grizzly bears have been reduced by 99% over the last 150 years, and today just 6 sub-populations totaling less than 1000 animals occur south of Canada (North Cascades, Selkirks, Cabinet Yaak, Northern Continental Divide, Bitterroot and Yellowstone). Grizzly bears are true wilderness representatives - if we protect them, we protect vast wilderness areas that are vital for other species......including ourselves.
